Public Service
Committed to the betterment of the community, Dr. Wesley understands a hospital’s responsibility in building a healthy community regardless of a patient’s socio-economic status. By contributing time and resources to social responsibility efforts, she has been successful in changing the lives of people and preventing costly re-admissions to the hospital. Lifestyle changes that help prevent or control hypertension, diabetes and/or heart disease are the cornerstone of a healthy community.
NYU Leadership Institute
Dr. Wesley created the Leadership Institute of Black Nurses (LIBN), which was formed to advance black nurses’ careers and address the extreme disparities in health between African-Americans and other groups in the United States. After six years, the institute graduated 100 Fellows and LIBN Fellow Dr. Natalia Cineas was appointment as SVP and CNE at the nation’s largest public health care system, NYC Health+ Hospitals in March 2019.
